Overview

Abhyanga treatment helps to relieve the stiffness of joints and muscles & relaxes the whole body, improving blood circulation and encouraging quick removal of metabolic and toxic agents from the system and rejuvenating the body and mind.

Warm oil is applied to the body as part of the traditional Ayurvedic practice known as abhyanga, which originated in India. It is regarded as a crucial part of Ayurvedic self-care routines and is a type of self-massage.

The Sanskrit word "abhyanga" means "oil massage" in English. The entire body, including the scalp and soles of the feet, is gently massaged with a particular kind of oil during the practice, such as sesame or coconut oil. Typically, the oil is warmed to a relaxing temperature to promote absorption and relaxation.

Abhyanga is thought to nourish the skin, balance the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), and enhance circulation and lymphatic drainage. Additionally, it is said to quiet the nervous system, lessen tension, and promote profound relaxation. The rhythmic movements and pressure used during the massage work to open any blocked energy channels in the body, known as nadis. The regular practise of abhyanga is thought to improve sleep quality, overall wellbeing, and the body's inherent cleansing mechanisms. In Ayurveda, it is frequently advised as a daily self-care routine to preserve health and balance.
